Duffle coat toggles - how would you approach this?
Hello Clo experts!
How would you go about making these toggles? I am happy modelling the toggles and bringing them into Clo, but I'd like to animate the coat and simulate the weight/pulling of the closures. I tried trims, but they only stick on the surface of the cord and don't interact with anything else. I thought about bringing the whole thing (both sides) as a trim but you can only attach a trim in one location. I also thought about modelling and importing two separate trims, one for each side and joining the coat using a transparent piece of fabric. I will probably try this approach, but if anyone else has done this successfully, I'd appreciate any input or ideas :)
Thanks,
Adam

Make the toggle cords as thin cloth patterns, and assign the 'toggle element as a weighted trim using glue.
Alternatively (and I use this a lot) create a simple pattern, two > left and right > apply an internal line for where you want the rope or leather tong and stroke that in another application, it will follow the object nurb on export. You can basically substitute any low poly cloth pattern for a high poly model that flexes in realtime or animation. Simple to do.
Below any pattern piece (Animated) can be replaced with a more complex model. Maybe your most simple approach as you can make this as complex as your 3D model.
Alternatively you can create complex knots in CLO3D by converting simple surface mesh into traced patterns and add thickness with edge curvature and simulate and sew as cloth - keeping it a realtime part of your garment.
