Merging Patterns

I feel crazy for asking this, but I can't figure out how to merge two patterns at CF. I drew half with the 3d pen, flattened and mirrored, but now I want the CF piece to be one piece (like on the fold, no seam at CF). Each time I select both pieces and RMC to see the sub menu, no merge appears. Is this not the right way? Has it been renamed or something? And best question: is there a better way to do this?

  Select the two pattern edges that you want to merge with the edit pattern tool (hold down ctrl/cmd button to multiple select). Right click and choose merge pattern.
