Chenille Texture
Hi, does any one have any good resources for a chenille texture? I'm trying to achieve the texture on the two socks in the image below. I've played around with the different furs and scoured the internet for any fabric assets that would work but to no avail. The two closest materials I have found are raw denim edge and terry cloth, but I can't get either one short enough to mimic the pile length of these socks. Any suggestions are appreciated!

The closest I have is this one > however the warp weft weave is seen close up. You could mix/blend it to get more of the slubs.
The best way is to digitize (image capture) a small sample as it's the quality of the albedo, normal and specular that contributes to the fabric textures organic 'slubby' texture. The other maps you can derive from these few. Best to digitally capture direct from a small sample as that about the only way to get it done quickly (5 minutes) and accurately (300pi).

A high quality normal and specular is required for these types of textures. I think you need to get a sample and image capture it in the similar way.

I need to be able to apply it to isolated areas as shown below, and I need to have thickness. The below image is using raw edge denim in CLO's library, but it is still too long. What do you use to create your maps? I've used ShaderMap4 and photoshop (normal maps only). While they are alright, they aren't perfect.

It's my own digitizing hardware, however if you click the link you can do the same with shadermap 4 Pro as you can use the normal map photography feature. See my previous post with a link showing how you can take 4 photos of any fabric. So basically that is all you need to do to get the normal > then derive the depth map > and specular from the diffuse (albedo).
