    This is sewn by apply a bias binding to a slash. At the ends near the cuff, the seam allowance is binding width, but tapers to a minimum near the end of the slash.  The inside fold of the binding is sewn shut with a small diagonal line, this is hidden inside the sleeve.

    So, mark a slash and essentially cut away a dart of binding width around that.  Create a strip twice the length of the dart.  This can be simulated with a strip of single width, or constructed with a strip of double width with a fold.  I did the double layer.  The key to getting things to fall into position is setting fold angles, and setting sublayers for some of the sewing.

    I replaced the tower placket in the supplied dress shirt with the simplified placket.
