'Could not open alembic archive for reading' Blender error message when importing Alembic OGAWA exported from CLO3D

I have a recorded fabric simulation which I would like to export from CLO3D for use in other software's. I recorded the simulation, CMD+A'd to select the fabric, exported as alembic OGAWA and when I tried to import into Blender or Cinema 4D both software's presented failuers. Does anyone have any ideas?

  For Blender I have found the most reliable is to export point cache 2 from Clo.
  
  When you import the obj (which exports along with the point cache) into Blender, you need to click the button that says 'keep vert order'. Then apply the point cache as a modifier (mesh cache) to the obj.

  Don't know about Cinema I'm afraid.
