Fabric GSM and weight
Hi all,
I have replicated an existing pair of large lightweight pants in CLO, however the simulation seems to apply weight to the fabric in an unrealistic manner. I have set all stretch factors to 0 in the fabric properties. In order to obtain a realistic output I have to set the density (or GSM) to 5g/m2, which is too low and outside of industry range. I would like to avoid such 'forcing' of parameters as this may hide some issues in my pattern.
Any thoughts of what I might be missing would be appreciated (perhaps some environment setup or weight of the sewing).
Many thanks ! : )

Hi Cecile. I have to say that it is still a mystery modifying the sliders for the physical presets for fabrics. The reason is that all the settings interact with each other.
My suggestion for you would be to find the most similar fabric in the Library or in CLO-SET.com.
The only other way I know in which you'd get the exact same simulation of the fabric you have, is to digitize your fabric with the Fabric Kit. Have a look below.

Click on the triangle, then you can set the density in grams.
