Pattern become transparent when render
Hi, whenever I'm working on dark colour pattern I always encounter the dark colour part become transparent. I'm using CLO ver 4.1. For example, I have a floral pattern with red flowers on dark navy or black ground. When I view it on 3D window, all look fine. The garment looks opaque. However, when I render, the black part becomes transparent in the render window. How can I make the fabric 100% opaque? A similar issue also happen on selective colour/pattern. Though, I have tried to ensure 100% opacity in the details, the fabric looks 100% opaque on 3D window but only 50% opacity in render window. If I open the exact same file and render in CLO 3.2, I won't have any such problem mention above. Please help.

Hi maxhillsg,
What kind of file format are you using for those textures?

Hi Dita,
I’m using jpeg.
Show you some example in the attachment.

I tried out the texture - had the same issue with transparency in Render mode. Then I opened the file in Paint and resaved it as JPEG, which resolved the transparency issue.
May I ask which software did you use to create these prints?

The original file from buyer was in AI but all the art were flatten. I use photoshop to crop out the artwork and save as jpeg. The odd thing is I work using the same pattern in both CLO3.2 & CLO 4.1. They both give different result. CLO 3.2 no problem only CLO 4.1 has this problem.

At the moment I don't have an explanation of why this is happening. Our team will look into it, and I will come back to you as soon as I have any info about it.
Many thanks for your feedback! Always greatly appreciated! :)

Hi
I am not sure if this is the reason. When I open the file in photoshop then switch the file to RGB mode , it will become normal.

Hi maxhillsg,
In this case it's a format issue because V-Ray renderer does not support the 32 bit jpeg format.
As rockchu suggested a simple solution is to change CMYK mode to RGB mode in the AI or PS. Then the file will be saved as a 24bit format of jpeg which is supported by V-Ray.Hope this info is helpful!
