How to make a metal buckle in CLO
Hey,guys.
I made a buckle in CLO and I'd like to share the steps with you.
Step 1. Create patterns
Create the patterns in the shape of the buckle.
Step 2. Reduce the particle distance
Reduce the particle distance for more precise simulation.
Step 3. Set the Curvature of the Curved Side Geometry
Set the curvature to get the more smoothe sides after setting the Add'l thickness - Rendering.
Step 4. Set the Add'l thickness - Rendering
Set the Add'l thickness - Rendering to get the thickness of the buckle.
Step 5. Make the tubes
Set the Add'l thickness of the circle pattern to make the tubes of the buckle.
Step 6. Arrange the patterns
Arrange the patterns in 3D window.
Step 7. Apply the metal material
Apply the metal effects to the patterns.

This is so great and helpful! Thanks a lot for sharing the tutorial as well as the asset! 🙂 What's the best way to add such a buckle to straps? Are there any best practices that you can share?

Actually I just made the buckle and I'd never added that to straps. But I think you can export this file to an OBJ file and then add that OBJ file as an AVATAR .
After that there will be collision between the buckle and the starps. So the strap and the buckle will be hooked together.

I don't understand step 4 :( How can I set Set the Add'l thickness ?? I tried put 90 to Add'l Thickness-Render and It's not working :(0 -
