Excluding shape from a pattern

Hi there,

how would you approach excluding yellowed segment? 

I usually duplicate the whole garment and then use cut; but are there any other way of doing these since that approach kind of slowdowns my workflow.

  Using the CLO Tracing Tool (I) is a great way to do this. You can select a combination of both pattern edges and Internal Lines to create a "Closed" shape > R-Click on one of the selected edges > Choose Trace a pattern from the drop down
