- Sewing the Pants
- Use theFree Sewing tool to sew the pocket and yoke Patterns to the pant Patterns.
- Establish Sewing Lines where the pocket Patterns overlap with the front pant Patterns.
- Establish Sewing Lines where the yoke connects to the back pant Patterns. - Sewing the Side Seams, Center Front, and Center Back
-The pant is divided into multiple Patterns. Use the M:N Sewing tool from the 2D Toolbar to sew multiple Patterns to a single Pattern or several other Patterns as needed.
- Change back to theFree Sewing tool to sew two individual Patterns together.
- Sewing the Waistband to the Pant Patterns
- Attach the waistband Patterns to the pant Patterns.
- Use the M:N Sewing tool, theFree Sewing tool, or the
Segment Sewing tool interchangeably as needed.
Arranging Patterns in the 3D Window
- Syncing Pattern Arrangement
- Select theReset 2D Arrangement tool from the 3D Toolbar to reflect the Pattern layout in the 3D Window as it is in the 2D Window.
- The Pattern Arrangement in both the 2D and 3D Windows will appear the same. - Turning on Arrangement Points
- Hover over theAvatar Display icon—the second icon in the Vertical View Toggle Menu—to access elements of the Avatar that can be toggled on or off. Click on
Show Arrangement Points, which is the second icon in the horizontal Avatar Display series. Blue dots, the Arrangement Points, will appear on the Avatar in the 3D Window.
- Accessing Arrangement Points Hidden by Patterns
- Move Patterns that are hiding the Arrangement Points for easier access.
- Hold down Ctrl or Cmd + A to select all Patterns. The Patterns will be highlighted in yellow to indicate they have been selected. With theSelect/Move tool from the 3D Toolbar selected, click and drag the Patterns out of the way of the Arrangement Points.
- Arranging the Front Pant Patterns
- The front pant and pocket Patterns need to be arranged together.
- In the 3D Window, place the pocket Patterns underneath the front pant Patterns using the Gizmo tool. To do so, navigate to the 3D Toolbar and choose theSelect/Move tool. Select the front pant and pocket Patterns and click on an Arrangement Point to place them around the Avatar.
- Navigate to the Property Editor and adjust the sliders under the Arrangement submenu to place the selected Patterns more precisely.
- Select all the front pant and pocket Patterns in either the 2D or the 3D Window. Navigate to the Property Editor. Under Arrangement, adjust the slider for Position Y and move the selected Patterns upward. - Arranging the Back Pant Patterns
- The back pant Patterns and the yoke Patterns need to be arranged together.
- In the 3D Window, place the back pant Patterns closer to the yoke Patterns. Next, select the back pant Patterns and the yoke Patterns. Click on an Arrangement Point to place the Patterns around the Avatar.
- Navigate to the Property Editor and adjust the sliders under the Arrangement submenu to place the selected Patterns more precisely. - Arranging the Waistband
- Arrange the back waistband Patterns on the back waist Arrangement Points.
- Arrange the front waistband Patterns on the front waist Arrangement Points.
- The right front waistband Pattern must be placed in front of the left front waistband Pattern for stable Simulation.
- Navigate to the 2D Toolbar and select the Trace tool. Select the purple Baseline on the overlap of the waistband and hit the Enter key on the keyboard to generate an Internal Line.
- Copy and Paste the newly created Internal Line to the underlap of the waistband.
- Use the Segment Sewing tool to sew the two Internal Lines together.
- To express interfacing, select the waistband Patterns and use the Bond function.
- Navigate to the 2D Toolbar and select the Transform Pattern tool. In the 2D grid, click on and drag over all of the waistband Patterns. The Patterns must be fully encompassed within the marquee box to be properly selected.
- Navigate to the Property Editor and scroll down to Bond/Skive. Click the white arrow to expand the menu and check the checkbox next to Bond. The waistband Patterns will change to a deep champagne color in both Windows to indicate that Bond has been applied.
- Click on the Simulate icon in the 3D Toolbar to apply the changes. Click
Simulate again to turn it off when the 3D Garment is fully draped.
- Change the Avatar Pose from A-pose to have her stand at attention.
- To apply the Pose, navigate to and double click on the default folder named Pose in the Library. Thumbnails of Avatar faces will appear—double click on the folder that matches the Avatar in the 3D Window. Double click on or drag and drop the file pose_02_attention.pos to apply the pose.
