How to create a strap buttonhole

Hello ! 

 

I don't know if I have the right vocabulary but I would like to create a strap as a buttonhole, Like in this photo.

 

Is this possible ? If yes, how can I do it ?

  You can create a strip and make it thick. Assign the physical properties of the strip's fabric as Trim Hardware to make it stiff.

  Thanks for that, I should of been more specific. I thought about doing this, but how can I close it with the buttons? I imagine I can't use the fastening tool?

  I would fake the look. Try secure and sew the loop to the other side.
