The metal material is not visible in the 3D window simulation.

In this video I'm learning from, the YouTuber shows that when you apply a metal material, it immediately takes effect in the 3D window. But when I apply a metallic material, it does not take effect in the 3D simulation. I only see it when I proceed to render. Why is this? Is there any way to see the metallic material in the 3D window?

  Are you currently using a mac? If  o you will notice that next to Metal in Textures it says Render only. You will only be able to see Metal in your Render engine. Only PCs can see metal in the 3D window
