Change length command - cannot assign a keyboard shortcut

I use a lot of shortcuts. But no matter what shortcut I assign to the Context Menu function "Change length", nothing happens.

I highlight the line using the Transform Point/Segment tool. Then, when I press the keyboard shortcut, nothing happens. Instead, I have to right click on the line to bring up the context menu to use the Change Length feature (side note - the keyboard shortcut is correctly listed next to it in the context menu when I bring it up).

I feel this feature used to work but stopped working at some point.

Hope this makes sense and someone can help me.

  Could you please indicate the version you are currently using and the previous version (if you remember) the shortcut still worked?

  Hi,

  The version I am using is 7.0.452.40783. I'm not sure which the previous version had the shortcut working but it would have been over a year ago probably!
