    Check your cloth pattern mesh collision offset distance, if that is too large you may get odd collision behavior on the thin strand cuts. My suggestion would be sew many thin strips (copy pattern array) to a band and then simulate, that way the algorithm will treat each pattern within the sub assembly differently to one pattern piece.

    TIP: set you simulation mode to CPU and best quality  > then try again, don't use the GPU simulation for this detail.
