Hi there, thank you for clarifying!

You can try this: On the fabric assigned, scroll down in the PE, then under Physical Property, choose Trim_Hardware from the drop down menu of Presets.

Thank you this is better, but is there any way to make the fabric even more rigid? - i have made the pieces trim hardware and solidified them already

    Hi c674f8c2dafe74a90993,

A note on solidify: It will try to hold the shape that the pieces had when it was applied. So depending on when you solidified, we advise to turn it off as it might be manipulating the shape to revert to what it was before you had stiffer properties applied.

I don't know which of the properties are needed for this exactly, but can share that when opening "Detail" underneath the presets, if you change many of the sliders to the highest possible value (usually 99), this will give the fabric the highest stiffness. I suggest you turn on simulation and then change the sliders to see if the stiffness is affected the way you wish for. Memory is hazy but check out Stretch, Shear, and Bending sliders.
