Exporting DXF file to Gerber. Grading looks wack.
Hello!
I'm trying to export a pattern to Gerber. However, the grading becomes completely off when importing it into gerber. I do not have Gerber myself, so I have been trying to solve the problem with another business that uses Gerber without any result. Does anyone have any clue on what's going on?

The DXF file

The export settings

How the grading comes out in Gerber.
Any troubleshooting would be much appreciated, thank you so much!

I used to have problems like that importing Investronica patterns into Gerber- it's not just the grading that's a problem but it also mistook certain internal points and lines for things and gave me garbage all over the place. I worked with the Gerber team to improve it and haven't had those issues in a while so if they are on a service contract they should upgrade their version. Have you got this sorted out yet? If not, you could send me a file to have a look at. I work closely with the developers at Gerber so if I can't figure it out, maybe I can get one of them to have a look at it.

Hey! Thank you for your input. I reached out to CLO tech Support and this was their answer:
Thanks for contact us.
This is due to differences in the way Grading is implemented. Other 2D pattern programs have to have a separate grading file called .rul, but CLO is designed to save inside DXF file using nested-grading method.
Conversely, if there are dxf files and rul files exported by other programs at the same time, CLO can import them at once to express grading.
Therefore, it may be inconvenient, but please use the method of exporting dxf one by one for each grading size.
For reference, in the next major update, we plan to support the export of grading information (rul file export).
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
JimNow I have been solving the issue exactly how they proposed it. However, it takes a vast amount of time of exporting each size and for the gerber users to import them and merge them together. I very much look forward to the update where you can also export RUL files...
I can send you the file where the pictures are from, if you want to have a look at it you are very much welcome to do so. If you have another solution to the issue it would mean the world to me and my work. Do you have an email where I can send you the file?

You are probably stuck exporting each size until they set up rul table suport, but send me the file and I'll see if there's anything that can speed up your process. Send it to jdiduch at gmail dot com
