Sloper Patterns, Valentina, and WorkFlow
Hi,
I have been working through the youtube videos but would like to hear from others if they draft patterns in CLO or use something like Valentina for their pattern making?
So far It seems Clo is great for visualizing, but I am struggling to translate my previous "by hand" method of pattern making digitally. Are you building patterns by traditional books? Just drawing over the gray form in the 2d window seems like very risky business.

You can draft in CLO3D like most 2D fashion CAD packages, it has a range of tools in the 2D drafting workspace that allow you to do this easily. In respect to using Valentina - that is a very archaic drafting toolset, by comparison, and much much slower.
Read about the 2D drafting space and maybe try it out. You can generate a set of complete patterns for garment samples and exchange for production DXF-AAMA export with other CAD systems without any problem. Easy to use, fast, accurate and possible to grade.
If you make slopers you can grade them using grade tables or use the modulator to mix'n'match styles, so much more flexibility than Valentina. You also have the avatar to pattern shape option, when used with slopers it is a form of autograde capability.
