How to make an All-Over Foil Print using Graphic Feature
You can make all over foil prints in CLO by placing your print as a Graphic and changing the Type to Metal.
1. Prepare image in Illustrator
- Create an artboard that is slightly larger then your largest pattern piece that will be printed
- Repeat print enough to fill the Artboard
- To Save Go to File>Export>Export as
- Change File type to to PNG - click Export
- Export Settings: Change Background Color to Transparent
2. Place Graphic into CLO
- Add a graphic through the Graphic(2D) or Graphic(3D) Tool or right click on a Graphic that is linked to the Library
- Click on the Pattern you want the Graphic/Print on
- Select the Graphic with the Edit Graphic tool
- Change the Color of the Graphic if desired and Change Type to Metal.
- Adjust Roughness and Reflection Intensity

In 4.0, the Graphic can now be tiled saving an extra step in Ai. :)

Oh yes! I forgot about the option to tile the graphic, this is much easier.
1. Add a single repeat image of your print as a Graphic.
2. Right click on the Graphic and go to Tile. You can then choose pattern, tile X, Axis or Tile Y Axis.
