Trouble opening DXF file in illustrator and files missing notches

You are correct with Illustrator you will need an older version. We would recommend instead exporting from CLO as a PDF and use this file version to open in Ai.

Otherwise for further help within Illustrator specifically you will need to reach out to their help teams for more direct help in Ai

Yes I know how to export  from the file as a PDF. But the issue with this is that only the base size appears when opened  in Illustrator. Is there a way to export as a PDF to show all the graded sizes not just the base size?

    HI nyssa.stabolidis

To export multiple sizes you will need to set this up in Print Layout mode. You may find both of these below videos helpful for this process

    Hello

these two videos are some what helpful however I still have an issue. I have been able to get the graded sizes to appear in a lay plan as a PDF but you are then not able to manipulate the lines in Illustrator like you can if you just export the base size. When an adobe PDF is exported from the base size you are then able to go in and apply strokes to different lines in illustrator  so I think it is still a vector file.  The PDF that you are able to create/export from the print layout does not  allow you to edit individual lines. This is what I need to be able to do. I am in the process of setting up a independent sewing pattern company. So I need to be able to manipulate the graphics of the lines for each size not just the base. Is there anyway  for the program to give me graded file that I can edit

I guess now I am back at the same starting point where the only way to have an illustrator editable graded file is to export a graded nest as a DXF and open it in an earlier version of illustrator...... but then how do I get the notches to appear?

I am not the first person on the forums to experience this issue. I would like to suggest that this be an update to CLO.

I really love this program but I am not sure how I will be bale to use it moving forward if I cant access the grading

I really hope you can help me find a solution. Please let me know if there is any other file information you need from me

    Dear nyssa.stabolidis,

Can you try vectorizing the Print-Layout-exported PDF via Image Trace in Illustrator and see if that gives you the desired result?
