registering socks with shoes

hi. i made a knee socks but when i tried to make avatar wear it with high heel it wont work.

the socks would cover the shoes.

so i thought about registering the socks as shoes

i want to make a high heel myself and register both the shoes and the socks together as a one shoes item.

but if the "shoe" comes up to knee length(even higher) would it be good?

I saw the clo youtube about registering shoes. and i learnt that you need to seperate the parts(heel part/shoe part)

would i have to come up with a seperate part for the leg area for the socks part?

what do i need to do to make an animation video with socks and shoes?

I should be testing out myself but I was worried...

  Hi There. The best thing to do is always testing. Never be afraid of that. Many of us learn these more advanced techniques through trial and error.

  For socks you will want to just register the sock/shoe together. 

  Another way to do this is to make a sock pattern with only the exposed portion. Then use avatar tape to have the sock stay right where it would meet the shoe. This way you would only need to register the shoe and would still be able to edit the visible portion of the sock. (do not make the portion of the sock that is inside the shoes or there will be collsion)
