Update! The outline appears if you use Invert on the image (in Photoshop) to create the displacement map. If you use colour overlay option, the line does not show. I hope it helps someone.

I did, very carefully 🤓. I found that if the file was created on Mac, the program will reject it in 99% of the time, no matter what you do. I tried all vector formats, I grouped, I created outlines...

I can't make Drawings work, Ottoline, it simply won't import any vectors. I suppose contacting the software creators won't be much use etither, since it's free.
