Importing FBX file, avatar becomes all black
Hi all,
I was following the Clo3D video "Animation and video creation tutorial" (https://youtu.be/18dvBwxkAU8), I followed every step until I had to import the FBX file from Mixamo, my avatar's skin becomes all black.
Texture is normal
Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

Hello lisarobson & lucileho - have you updated to the most recent version of CLO (6.0.460)? Please let us know if you are encountering the same issue in the most recent version of CLO.

Hello, yes I updated this week. I tried again yesterday following the upgrade but still encountered the same issue. If I do not send as a zip file with texture and just use the un-skinned avatar there are no issues. I tried retexturing after importing but this changes nothing. I'd really appreciate some help. Thank you.

Hi lisarobson -
We tested this on our side and are not experiencing this issue.
We are thinking that you might want to check a couple of things in your process (listed below):
- double check that you have the default FBX export settings from CLO (attached below)
- double check your Mixamo settings (as below)
- Make sure you are importing the FBX folder with all the texture contents
We hope this helps you! Let us know if any additional questions.

Hi, I've checked and I'm using all of the recommended settings, they are still coming out burnt looking. Can I ask if you are using a Mac or PC, I'm using a MAC, just wondering if that could make any difference?
Thank you,
Lisa

Hi lisarobson,
We have tested on windows mainly, but we have both mac and windows users in our office! In general, macs and PCs do indeed react differently because of their operating systems. One more setting combo to try, if you try FBX SDK version 2010, does the result differ at all upon import?
Let me know if this yields better results!

Hi all,
I am experiencing the same problem importing FBX file from Mixamo. I have already tried what you suggested, with no results. Have you solved the problem?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I've tried everything that's been suggested with no luck. Although I couldn't try the last one as FBX SDK version 2010 was not available in my options 2012 is the first one and I've tried that as the video with no luck. I've given up for the moment, are you using a Mac too federicop?

Hi all,
I have also tried every suggested with no luck. I've tried every version of FBX from 2012 to 2020. I'm using a Mac too if that helps.

Hello! I have the same problem and have no solution for this so far. The imported FBX avatar is missing textures and looks like a dark plastic. It worth noting that in the texture section same are "in place".
Is there any solution for this? Please help... Thank you in advance.0 -
I am having the same issue. I am working on a Mac and I cannot seem to import an fbx avatar without it missing textures and looking dark like the previous posts.
