Why is CLO based in the Cloud and can't be used offline?

I took some time off using CLO3D and now realise I can no longer use the software while offline?
Why and when did CLO decide to do this?

  Hello tom3d, thanks for your question! The only time you need to be connected to the internet is when you first open CLO to verify your login. After CLO successfully opens, you may work offline.

  And what was the reason for doing this? Instead of allowing users to download the whole application and use offline all the time.

  Hi thedressmakerllc. This allow CLO to keep CLO updated, but also so people with one license can login on different computers if needed with just one license
