Loose knit texture
Hello there,
Does anyone know what is the best way to create a loose, knit texture on clo3d? Please see the images below for reference. I was thinking of using displacement as an option or creating a normal map from knit stitches, but I do not fully understand how to create the fabric so that it shows parts of the skin due to the knit being loose.

Hi, displacement map is a good option twinking the clipping value you can obtain the transparency you need. Usually, a value around 2 is good but depends on the map.
For the fabric yo tuned to use a very loose one or play with value in the property editor of the fabric.
Increase the density value makes the fabric fall down like it was heavier. In the pictures below an example of holed knit using a displacement. ( it was made the first time Clo implemented the displacement in the software, so is not high quality)

Hi Deniele ,
Do you have any idea for smooth joint . see below

Hi Minnat, in the displace's properties the main value is the amount ( default is 3 mm ) that indicate how much hight the map go from the fabric surface.
In that garment the amount was probably quite hight, maybe 8 mm, the border insteed had only a texture and a normal so where they met you can see the weird effect.
The problem can be solved using a displacement also for the border or increasing its render thickness.
Also playing with the shift value can reduce this issue. It basically smooth the edge of all the displace ( not only the edges of the pattern where it's applyed )Daniele.
