Wool fabric
Hello together,
I need to create a kind of a wool/wool blend woven fabric similiar to the one in the picture:
But I want to use my own leo pattern. I did apply my pattern as a texture and set the normal map of the CLO wool fabric to the max. volume.
Nevertheless, with the black ground of my pattern it does not come close to the picture. Am I missing an option here?
Or can this only by done with other software like Adobe Substance designer?

Try shader hair (short haired) . It might be better. If you have the skill of creating materials in SD, then why ask?

I have no skills in SD and also dont know shader hair. If its not possible to make in CLO, I will learn SD. Thats why I asked.

It is very simple. Select in the material settings. Fur. It works only with rendering. Sorry, this is not hair, it's fur.

In fact, I've already tried changing the Fur Presets before that. But now that I've doublchecked your screenshot, I noticed that my displacement map was automatically 100% black.
Now I set it to a slight grey.It works now respectively I can start to play with the values until I have the desired look. Thanks a lot for your help.

I used a displacement texture (attached) to give a nice bump but also used a Photoshop action to distort the main texture so each individual colour looked like a stitch. It looks a bit rustic here, but you could make everything a bit smaller/neater if you wanted a smoother finish.

hey what photoshop action did you use?

It was this one - they had a sale before Christmas with a bundle so it worked out quite cheap
