pattern symmetry - to split or not to split - best practise?
Hi there, I have noticed that alot of the tutorials use patterns that have two halves for the front or back (seam down the centre). My question is - is it more efficient to simulate using a split for any full front/back patterns and then to merge them after simulation, or is it ok to leave full/symmetrical patterns as a whole.
Thanks!

It is very effective for editing, fitting and equalizing slices.
I'll tell you more. You can leave the halves, just need to remove the seam visibility in the settings. The model remains completely editable and looks as it should.

Thanks Vad, this is really helpful. Can you describe equalizing slices please, as this is not a term I have come across/cant seem to find info on this. Thanks!

It was a free translation from GoogleTranslate. I think you understood the meaning without the correct term. I meant checking and editing the length of the stitched sections. Perhaps GoogleTranslate again translates crookedly, but our symmetry is everything.
