Grading Copy/Paste doesn't work properly
Hi Clo Team,
I have noticed that the new option to copy and paste grading rules from one pattern to another in the latest version of Clo does not work properly. What I did was, I have imported a pattern with grading rules, made a copy of the pattern, deleted the rule, applied a new rule to the copied pattern. Then, I copied the rules from original pattern to the cloned pattern and the grading does not work as it should (see attached image). Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Vanya

Hi vanya ,
Thanks for letting us know.
I will share this issue with our dev team and let you know soon :)

Hi vanya,
For further investigation, we think we need the dxf files and also the rul files. Can you share the files via CLOSET or another platform?
Plus, may I ask why you tried this way?
Best, Lea.

Hi Lea,
Well, the reason why I tried this way is the same reason why you guys made this option available in Clo i think. What I mean is, ability to replicate grading rules to other patterns without to have to do it manually for each point every time. With this option I can have only 1 RUL with grading on 1 pattern. Then, every time I make some changes or I have other patterns I want to work with, I will always have a ready Grading rule to work with and apply it quickly to any other pattern I want. I hope I was clear with the answer :D. I think it has to do something with the curve points. I have noticed Clo creates curve points even if there is none in order for the grading to become more accurate. But it doesnt :).
Other thing, this problem does not happens only with imported patterns and RUL files. You can recreate the bug/problem with the default garments in Clo. I will attach images so you can see the steps.

Hello,
I have had a similar issue with the copy/paste grading function.
It was not a DXF, the pattern had been entirely built in Clo3d using Bezier lines.
I have however found a workaround :
- Right click on the piece > clone as reference line
- Right click on the line > delete all curve points
- Select "Edit curvature" tool > pull the line to turn it into a curve
- Select "Edit pattern" tool > Adjust the beziers following the reference line
- Right click on the line > Convert to curve point
>> Then the copy & paste would work
But its faster to type the grading values manually

Hey, Mylene
Thanks for your thoughts. Yeah I know there are workarounds, but that is not a solution. I believe that these options are purposely added to Clo. Their dis-functionality is another matter. I figured that the problem resides in curve points. They are messing the grading when you copy the rules of segment points. But, I am sure the Clo team will figure it out :).

Hi Clo team,
Ive just been having a go at grading the default mens tshirt and I think I am finding a similar odd grading - it does seem to be on the curve lines - is there a way around this - I have deleted the intermediate curve line points to get around it just for this project.
Thanks!,
Jayne
