DXF / RUL Import - Help with Grading
Hi there
I'm working with some patterns in DXF format supplied to me by my pattern maker and when I import them into CLO3D I'm not seeing any Grading options.
I only see a single size of the patterns and no indication of the other sizes, is someone able to shed some light on this for me?
The pattern maker has also attached some RUL files which I assume is probably the grading information, is there any way I can import this into CLO3D?
Thanks

Hi, if the pattern file is in the same folder with the rul files and they have the exact same name, the rul file will be loaded into CLO along with the pattern file.
Would you please try this? Thanks!

Thanks Erica, that worked a treat

I am having the same issue, but when I load as you suggested, no grading comes in.

Do you have a .rul file named exactly the same as the .dxf file in the same folder?

Yes I do.

pabloquintana I do have the .rul file in the same folder with the exact same name. My patternmaker is using TukaCAD. I realize now he added seam allowance which also wasn't showing up in Clo (also wasn't showing in Lectra). I asked him to send the files without seam allowance as I saw on another question in this forum, and that failed to show grading in clo3d (also won't show up in Lectra). Does that mean it's an issue in his file?

I don't think having the seam allowance should affect the possibility of seeing the grading. It is difficult to diagnose the problem without seeing the files. Why don't you try opening it in other CAD software to check for the grading in the DXF + RUL files. Try share.padsystem.com on a trial basis and open the file there.

Hello pabloquintana,
I have the same issue but in modaris Lectra. I want to import my graded pattern from Clo to Modaris. My name sizes appears in my "cartouche" The yellow frame around my pattern piece but I can't see any paths. As you can see in the photo under. If you can help me with that it would be very nice !
Thank you,
have a nice day

Hi, I m trying to import pattern from my provider and when i open it the grading is not appearing and i know that they make it with. Since i have been able to open the pattern once with the grading included. I have been trying the same pattern the day after and only one size appear. How is that possible

Hi parotte. Did the provider also send a .RUL file with the pattern file? If they did the .RUL file needs to be in the exact sample folder as the Pattern file and have the exact same same. They should just have different file types at the very end. If this is not the case I would reach out to the provider to make sure that they include this

Hi guys, could you please tell me about grading:
I imported the DXF (Test01.dxf) into Clo, and it automatically applies the RUL file (Test01.rul) to the patterns (say, I have M, L, XL, 2XL in grading). Then - sew the garment, apply topstitches, etc. Everything looks good.
Then, I want to have this garment in 6XL as well. And I have another RUL (Test02.rul)
but even when I rename it to Test01.rul, and even edited the file
Clo opens it as 6XL in grading, but the actual garment doesn't change...
AFTER this, even if I want to get back to my original test01.rul (M, L, XL, 2XL) - when I apply the original test01.rul - the grading's disappeared, the garment doesn't have any grading data.
So, the question is: how to apply a new RUL (new size) to the current garment in Clo (with sewing, puckering, and other data)? Considering that this new size, a new RUL file has been created within the same CAD, with the same patterns?
Thank you!
