    hi

thank you erica for your reply.

yes i want to scale a rectangle maintaining its total length in the 2d pattern,as how we do in autocad.

this link of autocad is similar to what i want.

    thank you

Maybe you want to change the scale and keep the proportions? If you need a scale with the preservation of proportions, then use this tool. If you do not have enough tools for building patterns, you can build in AutoCAD and import as ai pdf.

Somehow on my computer, the transform pop up window doesn't show up.
I am using a Mac Book Pro 2019 with magic mouse.

    Hi erica

this pop up window that you shared does show up in clo 6.0.

is there an another option to make this transform pop up window happen so I can scale my pattern pieces by entering percentage instead of having to manually change each point?

Hi mafgreene. If you are looking to scale your pattern pieces overall at once while maintaining the scale you can use a Transform Pattern precision box.

To open this window first select the pattern piece with the Transform Pattern Tool > Left Click/drag and start to scale the pattern piece > While still holding the Left Click also Right Click. Once you right Click the Transformation Precision box should open and you will now be able to scale the pattern by percentage. We hope this helps

    - just Want to say you are the first response that i have seen that CLEARLY explained this - and it could be elsewhere but there isnt much by way of filtering the q and a section -

Having to scale first can distort your pattern piece if you dont get the click just right.
I figured out that you dont have to start scaling the pattern piece. Just hover at that corner, hold down the left button and then right click - the transform precision box will pop open without dragging or distorting the pattern :)

Hi! Do you have any example illustrating the output of what you want to achieve?

I'm not quite sure by "without changing its measurements". Do you want to scale a rectangle maintaining its total length or area?

@nihad, based on the video, I see that you want to transform pattern by keeping the ratio.

Please use either the Transform Pattern tool or the Transform Point/Segment tool.

Using the tools, select the rectangle, right click to get a pop-up window like below:

Then, you can transform the pattern with locked ratio.
