sew piece onto an imported OBJ's edge

Hi,

I am in the need of sewing on a pattern piece together with an existing edge of an imported OBJ. Therefore the function would be necessary to "find edges on OBJ".

Background: I imported a designed object created with another 3D CAD as OBJ. On this imported OBJ I want to add one/some textile piece/s.

Now I have "attached" the textile piece with lots of pins next to the OBJ edge.

It could bring Industrial Design into a next level. OBJ with textile parts.
