Rendering: what is the best or ideal render system configuration?

I am new to all this GEEK knowledge. It has been a challenge rendering on my PC laptop

 i7 - NVDA GXF960 - 16BG

How do I get to that sweet spot of fast rendering and photorealistic quality? 

What are some people using to get lifelike results?

  You do not need to limit yourself to one type of render. You can try an alternative. For example, keyshot.

  Hello Vadsura,

  Thanks for answering. I know Keyshot would be great but I have limited investment liquidity right now. I have Maya and 3DS Max will they be able to achieve the high def render I am looking for...?

  Also is it IRAY vs. VRAY ??? does it make them look drastically different?

  @dorelle22, the "sweet spot" of rendering differs for everyone as the rendering quality is greatly influenced by the computer specification.

  Please try to adjust settings mentioned in above article and find the best render output you can get in your lap top. Or, another tip would be utilizing "Render in CLOSET" feature which is available in our latest version.

  Hi Erica, can you please tell me if CLOSET beta is working properly regarding render times? I'm getting insanely long times for single items, outputting at medium quality, 14+ hours per render. It's hopeless really, defeats the point of using it over rendering locally which takes about 30 minutes. I was expecting it to be quicker, and having watching Clo's own tutorials on CLOSET I can see that the narrator's render times are around 5 minutes.....Any clues how she has been able to do it? I'm on super fast internet here. Thanks!

  Hi odellin. Let me quickly shared my experience with a large project in which I used CLO-SET. The times were as you are mentioning now, so it doesn't have to do with your user or computer. The main benefit is that you can render a sequence of images (128 for instance) for several colorways and you will get of the images in about the same time you get one. So you can render dozens of pieces in hundreds of sequenced images in many colors in about hours instead of days in your computer.

   

  For a couple of images is faster on your computer.

  Ok thanks Pablo, good to know. If anyone working at CLO is watching this post it might be worth noting somewhere on your website what CLO-SET is/is not suited towards when rendering - i.e like Pablo has said, it is more suited to batching renders than individual renders.
