Creating a folded seam for a bag

I've been trying to use the seam folding tool, tweaking the 3D controls for intensity and thickness of the seamline, but can't get the look of the seam being turned. Particularly at the corners.

 

If I go crazy to 360 Fold Angle, it simply inflates like a balloon.

 

I even tried sewing like one would IRL but it was just worst.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Below the reference image and what I've achieved.
