How can we help you?

CLO3d as pattern drafting software (for manufacturing)

    Hi sophiezinga,

Once you create 2D patterns in CLO it is possible to save them as png image or pdf file in 1:1 ratio and afterwards print them. Please refer to this link which shows the process step-by-step. Hope this helps, and let us know if you have other questions!

    Thanks,

We thought about acquiring a complete CAD system like Tukacad, do you think that with CLO3d alone we can have an integrated system that allow us to completely replace 2d Cad solutions?

Hello Sophie. We are manufacturers too and we use CLO3D for visualizing our products before production. I can tell you that drafting in CLO3D is really easy, but still lacks a lot of features that you'll need for more complex or more workload in regards to patterns and grading. Is a good basic solution, but not fast enough.

Besides that you'll miss the marker software. If you are printing one single product, no problem, but if you want to nest and create the cut markers, that functionality is not included.

I am not in any way affiliated with PAD System (the 2D CAD pattern, grading and marker software we use) but I can recommend their subscription service padshare. Have a look in http://share.padsystem.com

What we can help you with is training in case you need for PAD System.

    All the best,

    Thanks a lot Pablo,

I really hope that Clo with turn into full pattermarking software, it's so much better to have all you need into one integrated solutions.

For the padsystem, i never heard of it, how does it compare to tukatech?

    Thanks,

Sophie, you can check PAD System (www.padsystem.com) and its subscription service at share.padsystem.com.

I haven't used Tukatech in the past, but I can say you can do everything with PAD System in relation to 2D CAD patterns, grading and cut markers. You can also use the digitizer to take your existing paper patterns to CAD.

If PAD System can do everything you need with a pattern and grading, then the price becomes the most notorious advantage. Using the cloud version of PAD you only pay month-to-month the number of licenses you want. If a month workload increases you can increase the number of licenses for that month only. Next month you can scale back to your regular number of licenses.

As with any software things can be easier in one or the other. At the end is user preference.

Hey christo. I don't think that is the purpose of the flatten tool. The resolution of the lines in the avatar is simply too low to create something accurate in the 2D space. It can give you guidance but you will have to rework them in CLO3D or any other 2D CAD.
