Just wanted to share this approach I am using when creating realistic drawstring detail for a hood, also useful when creating tunnels with strings.

Hello adelinag. The video by Dita Varna is really great. Here is another one that might provide you with some tips to help you succeed. They key is that when you get to the end, make sure you have your Particle Distance settings on Hi Res Garment.

Hi,

I've followed your method of putting drawstrings, however, whenever I simulate, the drawstring won't go through the hole?

Im bumbing this thread, I have the same problem as adelinag.

Could anyone help with this?

Hi lurtsen.

The final part can be the trickiest. getting the cord through that hole make sure that you have done the below

-Reduced the Particle Distance to 5

-You can also Reduce the Collision of the drawstring slightly which might help

-make sur all of your sewing is lining up.

Another method is to just make the portions of the drawstring that are visible and sew those the the waistband holes. This way you do not need to worry about the interior portion of the cord. Many designers find this route to be easier and faster. Only making what is visually there
