RGB Color Map (Suggestion)
Hiya,
I have a suggestion for a feature I would love to see added to the CLO program. This is to mainly do with fabrics, but could no doubt be useful across the program as a whole.
I would love to see an option for there to be an RGB map which means we can change certain texture area's colors.
I've seen this method used in the workings of the game 'The Sims 3' in which an RGB (sometimes RGBK) map is used.
An RGBK map reads each colorway from a seperate image file (comprised of areas of red, green, blue and black (key)) and assigns an editable color value to each one (allowing up to 4 editable colors). This would give us CLO users the potential of 4 editable color lines instead of fabrics etc only being able to be edited in one whole color.
This would be useful for someone like myself who works a lot with textures such as injects, marls and tie dyes which so far can only be changed externally if it involves a white/light base but darker accent color.
Below are a couple of examples of what an RGB map would look like (I've done just red and blue for now for quickness):
These are examples of a tie dye and an inject jersey. Doing this would also mean we could have multiple colorways of these textured fabrics in one file and also look more realistic for allowing us to recolor just a standard jersey texture but with different colors.
I hope this all makes sense and potentially some other used would agree with me in finding this helpful!

Hi brandalliance,
Thanks for the suggestion. Much appreciated.
We recently released "Color Switch" feature, where you can input the total number of colors of your texture and change them individually.
You can find it in the "Texture Editor".
Best,

Hiya,
Thank you for pointing out this feature! It would be great if some of these could also be incorporated within the fabric Property Editor as well for convenience, so that they can also work across with features such as the colorway window, etc.
Many thanks,
