3D state lost after using the 2D reset pattern along grainline
There's a problem with the new reset along grain direction tool, under Transform Pattern: Rotate. The issue is after a pattern has been reset along the grain in the 2D window, it's 3D state seems to be destroyed and will reset as soon as there's an update like an edit to the same pattern, or really anything that causes an update bar (even an edit to another pattern). I haven't seen this behavior before. To recreate:
- Create a square and simulate so it has a 3D state (or place with curvature on an arrangement point)
- Rotate the pattern piece in the 2D window by some non zero angle
- Reset the pattern along grainline in the 2D window
- Make a small edit to the pattern, like moving a vertex
In the 3D window the square will reset to a plank of some sort depending on collisions. Pressing undo will not restore the lost configuration. The only option is simulate or reset 2D. Compare to a similar edit after one of the other pattern rotations. In that case the 3D state updates a will need to simulate, but doesn't reset to a plank.
The same thing happens if the pattern has been placed with an arrangement point but not simulated. If the pattern is already on grain and reset along grain has no effect, then there is no issue. If the pattern is in an un-simulated state, already a plank, nothing happens. It has nothing to do with pattern symmetry, e.g. it was noted that "reset pattern" doesn't work on both symmetric patterns unless both are selected. Other 2d rotation tools work simultaneously. (Personally I like that it's now possible to reset only one.)
Setup:
After using Rotate: reset along grain direction
Editing the pattern in 2D is a quick way to trigger the behavior, but once the tool has been used, I believe it will reset shortly during work even without further edits to that pattern piece

For comparison, typically a small edit does not reset the pattern, just causes a local adjustment to the pattern shape in the 3D window
