Question
When I try to save my project in CLO, a warning popup appears saying "Files exceeding 2GB cannot be saved as a single ZPRJ file." and I cannot save my file. How can I fix this problem and save my project?
Answer
The problem occurs when the total file size of your project exceeds the maximum limit (2GB) allowed for a single .zprj file in CLO. This is mainly caused by heavy animation recorded data or high-resolution texture files.
To resolve this issue and successfully save your work, please check and try the two methods below:
1. If the recorded animation data exceeds 2GB:
If you have recorded a long animation, the data cached in the track can easily exceed 2GB. In this case, you can manually divide the animation into multiple files by cutting the layers.
Step 1: In the Animation Editor timeline, right-click on the specific frame time where you want to split the sequence.
Step 2: Click 'Cut Layer' from the context menu to split the animation track.
Step 3: Separate and save the divided sequences into different project files (e.g.,
z1.zprj,z2.zprj,z3.zprj) so that each file stays under the 2GB limit.
2. If multiple heavy texture files are applied to the garment:
If your project contains multiple high-resolution graphics, heavy normal maps, or large background textures, the file size will increase drastically.
Resize Textures: Check the original file size of the images applied as textures. Open them in an image editor (like Photoshop) to lower the resolution or compress the file size before re-applying them to CLO.
