This article explains how to workaround malfunctions in the CLO software caused by Nvidia graphics card drivers released between December 2024 and March 2025. This issue only occurs on Windows PCs with Nvidia graphics cards and the latest drivers, Macs are not affected.
Since 2019, the CLO team has been testing compatibility with Nvidia drivers which released monthly before and after the official release of CLO software on Windows computers equipped with various types of Nvidia graphics cards, and among the recently released drivers, CLO team have determined that the drivers released between September and October 2024 are relatively stable.
Problem Situations
- Unable to run CLO software
- Crash while launching CLO software
- CLO function icon not displayed normally
- 2D/3D visual glitches that have never occurred before
- Crash or hangups while opening certain project files
- Crash or hangups while running 3D simulation
- Crash or hangups while vray-rendering
How to Workaround
Go to Nvidia website (link), then download and install drivers released between September and October 2024.
In simple terms, it is a rollback to the older driver that was released a few months ago. The CLO team's testing results show that the driver released at that time is stable.
Detailed Procedures (Recommended)
1 Completely close any applications you use, including CLO software.
2 Check the model name and driver version of your Nvidia graphics card.
- You can find your graphics card name in the Performance section of Windows Task Manager.
- You can also check the installed Nvidia graphics driver version in Programs and Features in the Windows Control Panel.
3 If you have driver installed that was released after December 2024, before uninstalling it, download the drivers released between September and October 2024 from the Nvidia website.
- Make sure to check whether your computer is a desktop or laptop, and whether it is a Geforce or an RTX (Quadro) series before searching.
- Do not install the downloaded driver right away, but go to the next step.
4 Uninstall the currently installed Nvidia graphics driver from Programs and Features in the Windows Control Panel. Depending on the state of Windows and your PC system, a reboot may be required.
5 Install the downloaded driver with administrator rights. Right-click on the driver file, select Run as Administrator from the context menu that appears, and follow the on-screen instructions.
