Question
When I import my DXF file into CLO selecting the 'Swap Cutting line and Sewing Line' setting, some of the patterns are deformed. How can I fix the problem?
Example of deformation of a pattern:
Answer
The problem may occur when creating a pattern from 2D CAD software.
Please firstly check two things below:
- If a sewing line or a cutting line of a pattern is made as 'Baseline' from 2D CAD program:
If a pattern is created with 'Baselines' from 2D CAD program, the pattern might not be compatible with CLO.
For patterns to be imported into CLO, it is recommended to create it with 'Outlines' instead of 'Baselines'. - If a pattern is created as an unclosed shape from 2D CAD program:
If a pattern is created as an unclosed shape from 2D CAD program, it might not be compatible with CLO.
The feature named 'Swap Cutting line and Sewing line' is for importing a pattern into CLO by swapping sewing lines and cutting lines. However, as for patterns created as an unclosed shape, some of the patterns may be deformed when imported into CLO with 'Swap Cutting line and Sewing line'.
Thus, please firstly make sure whether a pattern is created as an unclosed shape or not. And if the former, modify the pattern to a closed shape and try to import it into CLO again.
