Question
CLO runs very slowly when I edit 3D Garment with Particle Distance 5. What should I do?
Answer
For all 3D garment simulation programs, its simulation speed varies depending on the number of meshes in a single file. More meshes there are, slower the speed is. On the other hand, less meshes there are, faster the speed is.
When Patterns' Particle Distance is set to 5, the program naturally slows down due to increase of the number of meshes in a single file. Therefore, we STRONGLY insist you to increase the Particle Distance to 20 when editing 3D Garments and decrease it to 5 when the 3D Garment is fully completed. Then, simulate for about 1~2 minutes.
Does CLO still run slowly though Patterns' Particle Distance is set to 20?
-
This may happen when a Pattern is huge (e.g. flare skirt patterns,) because regardless of the Particle Distance value, bigger Patterns contain more meshes.
-
Also, due to difference in their intrinsic character, the program speed may reduce when Patterns' mesh structure is set to Quadrangular. Please refer to Quadrangular/Triangular Mesh manual and configure mesh type as Quadrangular ONLY when needed.
- Moreover, program speed is also influenced by hardware specification. Please check out suggested specification here.

Hi Erica,
I have the following pc configuration: Win 10, 64 bits, Intel Core i7 2.59 Ghz, 32 Go Ram, NVidia Quadro P2000, but still find that launching simulation or moving fabric in 3D view is quite slow ... Is there any parameter (on graphic card, application , processor) that can improve the speed please? (note : particule distance=10 on project) Thanks for your help
Hi,
Is there any provision in clo3d where we can club or merge the mesh files.
