- Easily sew pleats pattern to another pattern.
- Select the Pleats Sewing tool from the 2D toolbar.
- In order to use the Pleats Sewing tool to sew pleats pattern to its paired pattern, both patterns should have Internal Lines with the same offset. Also, the ratio between the pleats pattern’s number of lines, including both Pattern outlines and Internal Lines, and the paired pattern’s number of lines should be 3:1.
- Additionally, segment points should be added to the intersection of Pattern outlines and Internal Lines.
- After achieving above conditions, select the Pleats Sewing tool from the 2D toolbar and navigate to the 2D Window.
- Be careful and always establish the sewing line on the paired pattern first. The Pleats Sewing tool would not work properly when such caution is not taken.
- Click on the either end of the Pattern outline where the first half of the pleats sewing line will be established on. The sewing direction should be equal to the pleats direction.
- Drag the mouse cursor towards the sewing direction and click again to complete the first half of the sewing line.
- Then, hover the mouse over the pleats pattern’s Pattern Outline. click on the either end of the pattern to designate the start point of the second half of the pleats sewing line.
- Drag the mouse towards the sewing direction and click again to complete.
- The second half of the sewing line’s direction must be the same as the first half of the sewing line’s direction.
- Now the pleats sewing lines are completed.
- Please use the Free Sewing tool when sewing accordion pleats.

I am little confused about this? So, for the pleat sewing tool to work, does the pattern need to have pleats all along it? What if I have one pleat in a long seam, like in pants?
