Objective
As one of the graphics standard file formats, USD allows you to increase productivity in collaboration with various 3D software.
Location
Main Menu ▶ File ▶ Import/ Import (Add)/ Export ▶ USD
Operation
- Click the tool /menu in Location.
→ The Open File window opens. -
Select the desired file and click the Open button.
→ Import USD window opens.

Set the details and click the OK button.
Option Description Load Type Open or add new files. Object Type Select the object type(Avatar, Trims, Scene and Props) of the USD file to be imported. Scale Type in the Scale or select the desired unit. Translation Click the "Align Bottom to Ground" option to set the location of the file as needed.
※ Note: If you import additional USD files, you can set the location of the object in the X, Y, and Z axis.

Click the tool /menu in Location.
→ The Open File window opens.

Select the desired location and click the Save button.
→ Export USD window opens.

Set the details and click the OK button.
Option Description
Prim Path Set whether to export Meshes and Materials, and specify the Prim Path to be dependent upon export. Materials are stored in the textures folder within the saved USD file folder.
Object
Select the objects you want to export (Patterns, Avatars, Graphics and Trims).
Object Choose whether to export the selected objects as a single object or multiple objects. Thickness Choose to export the object with the thickness or not. Unified UV Coordinates Texture information for all garment is exported within UV coordinate values between 0 and 1. Include Garment Simulation Data You can achieve more dynamic clothing for your UE 5.4 scene through the updated USD export for garments, including geometry, materials, and the necessary data for simulation setup. Scale Type in the Scale or select the desired unit.
