Simply enter your Fabric Type, Composition and Density to quickly create new accurate fabrics within CLO.
Open
- Right-click on the fabric item in Fabric tab in Object browser, then select the Fabric Creator menu.
- It can also work in Main Menu ▶ Editor ▶ Fabric Creator Menu, and if it work in this way, the created fabric is addded as a new fabric
Create Fabric
- Enter the Name, Supplier, and Owner of the fabric.
- When selecting the Fabric Type and entering the Composition, the physical properties of the fabric are applied according to the information set and will be previewed.

Switch tap to check and modify the physical properties of the fabric as needed.
- Set the Material of the fabric it created, or click the Use CLO Texture Presets option to enable and apply the CLO default textures based on the fabric type.
The Composition can be customized based on the selected Fabric Type.

Click on the Select menu and then choose the compositions to customize.
* Basic refers to the primary composition used for the selected fabric type, while Additional refers to compositions that can be combined as extras.
- When entering the composition, the physical properties of the fabric are applied according to the information set and will be previewed.
Set Options

Model
Set the shape to preview the fabric (Cylinder-Circle /Squar, Cape) in the upper left corner of the Fabric Creator window.
- View
Set the preview to a specified view, or manually adjust to set the desired view in the upper right corner of the fabric Creator window.
📝 Note: Click the Lock button to lock the view adjusted.
Apply and Save
- After the fabric is created, click the Apply and Apply & Close buttons at the bottom.
→ If the fabric is applied in the 3D garment, the results can be checked right away.
→ The Fabric Creator window is closed simultaneously as it is applied as the property of the fabric. - Or, click the Save button to save the created fabric as a file. (ZFAB).
Comments
In a future upgrade it would be great to allow for a custom fabric type. I would like to be able to choose the composition elements from a checklist rather than be beholden to the fabric type. Also, would love to see polyurethane and polyethylene added. I would also request a custom fabric type allowance in when creating fabrics for Clo-Set connect. The current list of fabric types is not extensive enough and forces us to supply incorrect information.
