Edit seam allowance properties as needed.
- Click the
Seam Allowance tool in the 2D toolbar.
- Click on the Pattern outline or point where the seam allowance is applied.
→ Show Seam allowance options in the property editor.
Edit the options below as needed.
Option Description Custom Seam Allowance Toggle the pattern's seam allowance editing ability.
Custom Seam Allowance Off
The seam allowance follows default presets. Editing abilities are disabled.
📝 Note: When editing the pattern outline, the seam allowance follows and snaps to the updated pattern outline automatically.
Custom Seam Allowance On
Enables full 2D editing abilities on all seam allowances across the entire pattern.
📝 Note: When editing the pattern outline, the seam allowance preserves its shape. Press the F4 key to refresh the seam allowance by following the new outline.
Lock Seam Allowance
Unlock to click and edit the seam allowances.
Lock to block from selection or click-actions by 2D editing tools.Width Enter the width of the seam allowance in line or point. Smooth Intersection Click the intersection between the seam allowances of different widths to smoothly connect the seam allowances of the two line segments. Seam Type Select the desired seam type for each seam allowance's start, end, and intersection.
The options' activation status depends on the selected point.Start It activates when a seam allowance is created only at the start point. Select the desired seam type among 3 options. End It activates when a seam allowance is created only at the endpoint. Select the desired seam type among 3 options. Intersection It activates when seam allowances are created at both ends of a line. Select the desired seam type among 6 options.
📝 Note: Start from 2026.1; it will has 8 options.
Corner Type
Intersection
When selecting a pattern outline's point, select the desired corner type among 8 options.
📝 Note: Seam allowance width by point and Smooth Intersection are not supported in version 2026.1.
