Offset Pattern Outline

• Offset Pattern Outline
  - Extend the Pattern outline while maintaining the shape of the Pattern.
  
  
  • Offset a Segment
    
    - Select the  Edit Pattern tool from the 2D toolbar.
    
    - Navigate to the 2D window, right click on a segment of a Pattern and select Offset Pattern Outline from the pop-up menu.
    
    - The Offset Pattern Outline Window will appear.
    
    
    • Distance: set how much the Offset Pattern Outline will be apart from the original Pattern outline.
      
      
    • Number of Offsets: set how many offsets will be duplicated.
      
      
    • Total Distance: total distance equals to the result of Distance multiplying Number of Offsets.
      
      
    • Create Internal Line: toggle on to convert the original Pattern outline as an Internal Line.
      
      
    • Extend Side Segments: toggle on the option to extend adjacent Pattern outlines, maintaining their original slope.
      
      
    • Default Corner, Right Angled Corner, and Unfilled Corner: decide how corners of the offset Pattern outline will be shaped. This option is not used when offsetting a segment.
      
      
  • Offset an Entire Pattern
    
    - Select the  Transform Pattern tool or the Edit Pattern tool from the 2D toolbar.
    
    - Navigate to the 2D window, right click on a Pattern and select Offset Pattern Outline from the pop-up menu.
    
    - The Offset Pattern Outline Window will appear.
    
    
    • Distance: set how much the Offset Pattern Outline will be apart from the original pattern outline.
      
      
    • Number of Offsets: set how many offsets will be duplicated.
      
      
    • Total Distance: total distance equals to the result of Distance multiplying Number of Offsets.
      
      
    • Create Internal Line: toggle on to convert the original Pattern outline as an Internal Line.
      
      
    • Extend Side Segments: toggle on the option to extend adjacent Pattern outlines, maintaining their original slope. This is not used when offsetting an entire Pattern.
      
      
    • Default Corner, Right Angled Corner, and Unfilled Corner: decide how corners of the offset Pattern outline will be shaped.
      
      The Pattern outline will be offset based on the setting.
