- Apply Linear Avatar Tapes to Avatars in the 3D window.
- Select the 
Linear Avatar Tape tool from the 3D toolbar.
- Or, navigate the Main Menu and select Avatar ▶ Avatar Tape ▶ Linear Avatar Tape.
- Select the Linear Avatar Tape tool from the 3D toolbar.
- Click to create the start point of the Avatar Tape on the Avatar. A blue dot will be created.
- Drag the mouse towards the direction the tape will be applied to and click to create the second point. A blue dot will appear as well.
- Double click where the tape should be completed. The Avatar Tape will be created and highlighted in yellow.
- To create an Avatar Tape in guidelines, hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click to create the start point.
- Keep holding down the Shift key and click to establish the second point.
- Double click where the tape should be completed. The Avatar Tape will be created and highlighted in yellow.

It would be really useful to be able to use Curve Points with the Linear Avatar Tape tool, or have a Curve Avatar Tape tool in its own right. This could work in a similar fashion to the Line (Avatar) tool. Have just played around some ore with the tape tool and it does seem to follow contours with the Linear tool so maybe this is not as necessary as I thought
It would be really useful if there was a Convert Line (Avatar) to Avatar Tape tool. That way you could exactly match the lines drawn for the pattern pieces before flattening and then use the Attach to Avatar Tape tool with 100% accuracy. The simulation would then work seamlessly and the resultant pattern piece would be exactly where you drew it in the first place.
On the Avatar tape - is there a way to highlight/view the measurement after taking the initial measurement (as with the circumference measurement)? The yellow is a bit difficult to see against the gray of the avatar...
I don´t have access to this tool! why? because I have the trial version? I'm not being able to follow this step of your videos: https://youtu.be/5w0f13B71pQ.
I have tried do go to User Settings / User Interface / and put the Group Tools off and more tool are now available, but the Linear Avatar Tape is still not there :(
