[Mac] Open an App from Unidentified Developer

Objective

Resolve issue when Open an App from Unidentified Developer message appears while installing or updating CLO in Mac.

 

Operation

  1. When installing or updating CLO in Mac, Open an App from Unidentified Developer message may appear as below.

  2. Open Security & Privacy window.

  3. Choose Anywhere under Allow apps downloaded from.

    ※Note: If Anywhere option does not exist, select Mac App Store and identified developers.

  4. Save the changes.
    → CLO will install or update properly.

  5.  Reference: Apple Manual if needed.

    This is terrible advice - it leaves your Mac open to all sorts of vulnerabilities. Can you just get the app signed off on?

    For some reason I can't update CLO on my mac. When I download the update file, it only download an .exe file for Windows? And when I just click "update" I get the message "Failed to LiveUpdate"

    WHAT TO DO?
