1) Windows updates and patches are highly recommended. Windows Update - Microsoft Support
2) If dll-related errors occur while installing or running CLO, install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. X64 architecture is recommended. Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable latest supported downloads
3) CLO software cannot run on Windows 10/11 N which media features removed. Download and install the Media Feature Pack from the Microsoft website. Media Feature Pack for Windows 10/11 N (February 2023)
4) For smoother operation, 16GB or more of memory is recommended. 32GB or more of memory is recommended if you are using multiple software at the same time and/or dealing with huge and complex garments.
5) CLO utilizes Nvidia CUDA acceleration technology for CLO GPU-Simulation and Rendering. So computers with only Intel Graphics or AMD graphics card do not benefit from GPU acceleration that speeds up CLO simulation and rendering.
6) For graphics card related issues, please see the following guide. In particular, please update your graphics card driver to the latest. Graphics Card Problems and Troubleshooting
7) A GPU that supports OpenGL Compatibility Profile 1.2 or higher is required to run CLO software. Some mobile GPU processors from AMD and Intel may not fully support openGL, which is essential for running CLO software, and may not run CLO software. If you are using a laptop or graphics card with a built-in CPU, check with the hardware manufacturer for the GPU model and whether it supports openGL.

1) Starting with CLO v2024, the minimum macOS has been changed to Monterey 12. See which macs are compatible with macOS Monterey 12 here. macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers.
2) Intel chip macs do not have Nvidia graphics cards, so mac users cannot make use of GPU acceleration, but simulation and rendering are supported normally.
3) macOS dependencies
- Sierra 10.12: users can install and run up to CLO 5.2.
- High Sierra 10.13: users can install and run up to CLO 6.1.
- Mojave 10.14: users can install and run up to CLO 6.2.
- Catalina 10.15: users can install and run up to CLO 7.3.
- Please note that CLO 7.0 and future versions will not run on macOS Mojave or earlier.
4) As of CLO 7.0, provides as a compatible build for both Apple Silicon macs and Intel chip macs. If you want to use version 6.2 or lower on Apple Silicon Mac, you need to install Apple Rosetta. Visit here for more info. If you need to install Rosetta on your Mac: Apple Support
5) CLO software supports Retina 5K and higher resolutions. However, it may run a bit slower in a resolution environment of 5K or higher. This is a known issue and is being improved.
Additional Info
- CLO software does not support BootCamp in macOS.
- CLO software can be installed and run in virtual server environments such as Virtual Machine and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure and in cloud services. However, in this case, the CLO team does not provide technical support.
- CLO software does not support Apple iOS, iPad OS, tvOS, Android OS, Windows Mobile and Linux.
- CLO software does not support 32-bit OS (e.g. Windows 7 32-bit).
- CLO software can be downloaded as .exe or .dmg file format. It is not distributed in .msi or .pkg file format.

Hi, regarding GPU specs for windows it is written : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 and above ("Except Quadro series")
>> does it mean that none of NVIDIA quadro would do?
I'm considering getting a work station that is built with and NVIDIA Quadro P600. Is it non compatible?
thx for your answer.
Hi @thatshere,
Please be noted that we cannot guarantee its performance as Quadro series is not officially supported. Thank you.
Hi @Erica, are quadro series still not officially supported?
Hey,
I'm planning on buying NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB DDR5 Graphics card
Will this decrease my rendering time?
Hi Pranav,
Firstly, as you may know, NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti does meet our minimum specification but does not meet our recommended specification so it is a lack of specification to recommend!
Plus, may I ask which graphic card you are using now?
Best, Lea.
Hi Lea,
I know it isn't the recommended graphic card but it's only graphic card which meets my budget.
Currently I am using the internal graphic card of my processor which "Intel HD Graphics"
Hi Pranav ,
Totally understandable for your situation! However, our recommendation is still the same like I said above.
Rendering time will be improved if you change your graphic card from Intel HD Graphics to NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti :) but we could not guarantee that it will be a significant improvement. In addition, our latest version has gotten a bit heavier than before because of some features of render, so it is highly recommend using a graphic card which performs better.
Best, Lea.
Hi
I am currently working on the trial version. But the 3D window doesnt work. It automatically shuts down when worked in 3D window
Hi @jenipriya,
Would you be able to share your PC specification including a graphic card?
Sending us a text file referring to the manual below would be the best!
If you are using a Mac, please send me the screenshot of the specification :)
1. Press the Windows + R keys on your keyboard simultaneously, and type "dxdiag" without the quotes.
2. Press the Enter key or click 'OK' button.
3. Choose 'Save All Informations..(S)' at the bottom of the window.
4. Save it as text file.
Hi @pinarer,
All three graphic cards you mentioned do meet our recommended specifications! If you want a high-end graphic card, please refer that GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and GeForce RTX 2080 are recently released.
Best,
Lea.
Hi @pinarer,
1. CPU: i9 is better than i7 and 4 cores are fine.
2. GPU : Just in case, the graphic card I recommended is GeForce RTX 2080 Ti / GeForce RTX 2080, not a GTX 2080.
3. GPU : GEFORCE RTX™ 2070 is a bit lower than GeForce RTX 2080 Ti / GeForce RTX 2080 but it is also fine :)
Finally my PC building issue is solved.. it was a very stressful 2 weeks:) I finally found a company who helped me with everything. If you live in USA and need a PC , call XIDAX PC, they are amazingly helpful with everything.. So this would be my recommendation after all the stressful days.. But now i can not wait to receive my PC and work on Clo3d:) very excited! :)
Hi @pinarer ,
Finally!! Congratulations! : ) Hope you get your new PC soon and enjoy our software!
Hello! I am planning on buying a MacBook Pro 15" in a few days for Clo. Their specs don't quite match what yours are above. i.e:
- 2.9GHz i9 that boosts up to 4.3 (you require 3.0 or higher). Is 2.9 enough?
-GPU: They have the following options. Which is the best?
Radeon Pro 560X with 4GB of GDDR5 memory
Radeon Pro Vega 16 with 4GB of HBM2 memory +$250
Radeon Pro Vega 20 with 4GB of HBM2 memory +$250
Thanks for your help in advance!
Hello again! Can i get away with this?
2.6GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.3GHz
instead of
2.9GHz 6‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i9 processor, Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz ?
@lea: can you help me with my questions above regarding the Mac Book Pro specs? I am scheduled for CLO training in a couple of weeks and want to be all set w/my laptop. Thanks!
Oh @mcass13!!
Sorry for my belated reply.
CPU; CPU does meet our recommended specification :)
GPU; Radeon Pro Vega 20&16 performs better than Radeon Pro 560x but Radeon Pro 560x is also not bad to use CLO.
Hope your CLO traning goes well and enjoy our software!
Have a great day.
Best, Lea.
Good day,
Intend to purchase a new notebook to run CLO, would appreciate if you could help advise is the following spec good enough or will I face some problems with it, as it is quite a substantial investment for me therefore do not wish to get something that does not work well:

Good day,
Would you be able to advise my earlier post about Dell XPS 15 2-in-1 (9575)? My current computer is getting very hot during use, kinda of worry that it might give way anytime. Please help so that I can get a replacement soon.
Thank you a million!

Hey,
I originally had MacOS High Sierra but I upgraded to MacOS Mojave. Is there any way I could make Clo work on my computer or will it be compatible with MacOS Mojave in the near future?
Thank you for your help,
Noemi
Hi guys,
I soon will build a pc for using clo3d. Would you recommend a Nvidia RTX 2080 (8GB) over a Radeon 7 (16GB) though the amd card has more RAM?
Thanks and regards
Lukas
Hi,

Hi,
could you help me with my question above regarding radeon 7 vs. rtx 2080? I tougth I read somewhere that amd graphic cards are not recommended, but in the post from Lea (February 11, 2019 04:59) it is said, that radeon cards are ok. So now I'm not sure if the radeon with much bigger ram wouldn't be a better choice than the rtx 2080 or even rtx 2080 ti.
Thanks for your help
Lukas
Hi all, for a new investment I would like to have your opinion.
I need a laptop, the choice I'm thinking about is on new workstation with rtx 5000 card and i9 9th generation cpu(razer or msi), but incredibly a macbook pro with pro vega 20 4gb hbm2 and i9 8th generation costs less.
Which one has the best performance for use in clo? Or which ecosistem work better for 3d use?
Thank you all
Hi,
What's the best three-button mouse recommended by Clo users? Thanks
In the list of supported MacOS-Versions, the newset version MacOS 10.15 (Catalina) is not mentioned. Is this supported?
@matalb and others,
The CLO software can be installed and run on the latest macOS Catalina. However, due to Apple's new macOS policy, some features of the CLO software may not work.
The macOS problem we've noticed so far is that video recording doesn't work with animation rendering.
HI All

@sumedha
Your PC system should run well. Not sure what happened on your system side.
Please send us your dxdiag.txt file via https://www.clo3d.com/contact, we will take a look.
For this case, Tech Support form is preferred.
