Affix specific portions of the garment and utilize pins similarly to the Freeze function.
It is also convenient when turning/flipping over collars, lapels, or cuffs.
Create Pin

Click while pressing W on the keyboard with
Select/Move tool on the 3D toolbar.
OR
-
Click and hold the
Select Mesh tool for more than 2 seconds, then click the
Pin (Box) or
Pin (Lasso) tool. The mesh of all pattern pieces will be shown in red.

Follow the indicated guideline below:

Vertex
Click on a vertex, which is any point in the mesh where edges meet. When hovering above, a blue dot will appear.
- Area
Click on the desired area on the garment ▶ click and drag to select the area.
- Segment
Double-click on a pattern outline in either the 3D or 2D window to create pins on a segment.
When creating pins on the pattern in the 2D window, they are generated on adjacent segment vertices when the angle difference is less than 20˚.

Pattern
Double-click on a pattern in either the 3D or 2D window to create pins all across its entire surface.
- Internal Line
Use the same procedure as above to create pins on specific internal lines and shapes.

Vertex

Click and drag, or use the gizmo to move the pinned mesh as desired in the 3D window.
📝Note:
- Click and drag on the 2D pattern while holding Shift+Ctrl (Windows) / Shift+Cmmd (Mac) on the keyboard to create additional pinned areas.
Adversely, click and drag on the 2D pattern while holding Ctrl (Windows) / Cmmd (Mac) on the keyboard to remove pins from existing pinned areas.
Holding Shift and then clicking and dragging will remove pins where there were some and add where there were none. - The created pin can also be selected in the 2D Window. (ver 7.3
)
- Click and drag on the 2D pattern while holding Shift+Ctrl (Windows) / Shift+Cmmd (Mac) on the keyboard to create additional pinned areas.
You can quickly duplicate pins and its position to the symmetric side/pattern in one click.
- Right-click on the pin on a symmetric pattern.
- In the menu that appears, click on Duplicate to Symmetric Patterns.
📝Note: Once duplicated, any position changes you make will not dynamically affect the symmetric sides/patterns.
Hide/Show Pin
- Hover over the
Garment Display in the 3D or 2D window for more than 2 seconds, then click the
Show Pins icon.
You can hide pins in Print Layout mode as needed.
Delete Pin
- Right-click on the pin.

In the menu that appears, click Delete Selected Pin / Delete All Pins.
- While on the Select/Move tool, selecting a created pin while holding W key on keyboard also deletes the pin.
